This tender (and often hilarious) service honors the special bond between people and their beloved animal companions, and celebrates the amazing animals of God’s creation. The service is free and open to the public, and all are welcome to bring their pets for a blessing. Reptiles, rodents and insects in cages, please! Children can bring their stuffed animals for a blessing, and if your pet is too shy, bring a photo! New Life’s Annual Blessing of the Animals service commemorates the October 5th feast day of St. Francis of Assisi, who loved all the creatures of the earth and is known as the patron saint of animals.
