On September 7, 2018 from 9-11 pm, some energetic New Lifers showed up for the Akron Canton Foodbank’s annual Operation Orange. They handled thousands of pounds of oranges and apples, separating them into smaller bags for distribution. And they had a great time too!
This volunteer opportunity is one of many outreach activities the church offers each year. Many of the outreach programs are focused on feeding people, and many of the volunteers wore their Matthew 25:35 t-shirts saying “For I was hungry and you fed me…”
One of the reasons New Life likes this outreach project is that it is done with the wider community. Even more, it is appropriate for people of all ages, and kids have a lot of fun. There is music and dancing all night long! Naturally, everyone is already looking forward to next year! Hope you’ll join us!
Thank you to Bo Iole, Kim Peer, Michelle Williams and Darlene Giffin for the photos!
We need a caption for this one!
