Rev. Pat asks us if we are prepared to hear what it is that Jesus asks us to do, or do we argue about who is the greatest and miss the instructions? We want to be better than the next person, but is that really our Christian Witness?
Rev. Pat reflects on the collect for the day: "O God, because without you we are not able to please you, mercifully grant that your Holy Spirit may in all things direct and rule our hearts; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen."
In her sermon for September 6, Rev. Pat talks about the Syrophoenician woman who teaches Jesus that he is here for everyone, not just the Israelites. "His life, his love, his goodness is available to all. And needs to be available to all. Now that will cost him something. It will cost us something. But it's the best world, the best way to live. It's what Jesus himself learned."

In today's sermon, Rev. Pat discusses eternal life with the children of the parish. How do we know that something is alive? Will it remain alive forever? Jesus says if we eat the bread that he gives us, we can live forever. Do you believe it?
Even though we die, we live, just the way Jesus did. How do we know that, and who helps us to believe?
