Our Purpose

New Life Episcopal Church exists to provide a spiritual home for loving, learning, serving and sharing our Christian faith.

We love our faith by worshiping God together in a Eucharistic service.

We learn our faith through Bible readings and sermons during the worship service, through teaching and participating in adult studies and small group studies, as well as attending or leading special educational events and programs.

We serve our faith in hundreds of ways both inside and outside of our church building.

We share our faith by living it.

God has planned a special purpose for both New Life Episcopal Church and each member of the congregation. Do you know your special purpose? Ask us about ways you can discern your special gifts, or join us in joyfully fulfilling God’s will for our lives and the life of his church!

LOVE

We love our faith by worshiping God together in a Eucharistic service. Our worship style maintains many of the Episcopal Church and catholic traditions, while providing opportunities to experience Christ in new, contemporary ways. Our worship service provides the opportunity to praise God, hear his Word, seek and receive forgiveness, receive the body of Christ in Eucharist, and be blessed to carry on the work of Christ until we meet again. This love of our faith through worship renews us to accept the gift of God’s peace and empowers us to be faithful instruments of God’s love in the world.

LEARN

We learn our faith through Bible readings and sermons during the worship service, through teaching and participating in adult studies and small group studies, as well as attending or leading special educational events and programs. We also learn our faith by teaching or serving in children’s Christian Education and Formation programs. We learn our faith in the trenches as well, as we actively love each other and try to love all people as God would have us do. As we grapple with contemporary issues. Faith in action is a powerful educational experience.

SERVE

We serve our faith in hundreds of ways both inside and outside of our church building. Our church ministries are numerous, from Acolytes to the Worship Team. We serve at the Altar, in the kitchen, outside on the grounds, or in the office. We serve from our phone, computer, car and front porch. We serve every day, not just Sunday. Whatever your gifts or available time, there is a way to serve your faith inside the church building.

Outside of the church building, New Life members serve individuals and communities through a myriad of careers and volunteer activities. We serve our faith by providing food, clothing and money to the poor, tutoring children, participating in support groups, going on mission trips and mission events. Serving as volunteers and on the Boards of social service agencies, hospitals, The YMCA, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts and other youth organizations. You will find New Life servants at Nursing Homes, at the Ronald MacDonald House, in prisons and group homes. Our Stephen Ministers serve people who are and are not members of New Life. We have as many ministries outside our church as we have gifts and interests!

SHARE

We share our faith by living it. We strive to live in a way that demonstrates to others the peace, love and joy that comes from being filled with God’s Holy Spirit, putting our trust in an awesome God, and knowing that we have received the gift of eternal life because we believe that Christ died for our sins.  We strive to become more and more Christ-like.  We share our faith by sharing our faith story with others who are connected to our lives, and encouraging them to seek God for themselves. And by assisting in that process.

God has planned a special purpose for both New Life Episcopal Church and each member of the congregation. Do you know your special purpose? Ask us about ways you can discern your special gifts, or join us in joyfully fulfilling God’s will for our lives and the life of his church!
